Modern Religious Experience: Reflection #3- Gandhi: Hindu and Activist

Modern Religious Experience: Reflection #3- Gandhi: Hindu and Activist: "In class, your small groups went over movie questions about the content in Gandhi. You should know who each of the main characters are and t..."

Gandhi's idea of Hinduism is that as Hindus, it is necessary for Hindus to appreciate other religions and think of them as equals. He supported this idea by being all religions such as Christian, Buddhist, Hindu and others. Another support was that Gandhi never showed violence even when it was thrown upon him. No matter what happened, he kept his violence level to non-existent. For example, when he was doing something wrong, the officer kept beating him and he did not fight back. He was completely against religions fighting against each other because everyone is equal.

I'm pretty sure this quote is one of his most famous quotes. “An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” is a classic quote. This quote stood out to me as I could relate to it personally. It is a quote that signifies fighting back will do you no good. It's true. When one harms you, harming them will only make the fight bigger. Like said in the previous paragraph, Gandhi never enforced violence because he believed in his quotes saying that defending yourself with violence won't stop the mess, it'll only increase the anger, provoking the opposition.
